3 “Whats” That Must Drive All Your Marketing Decisions

There are three “what” phrases that must drive all of your marketing decisions.

  1. What?
  2. So What?
  3. What Now?

Essential that you can answer those three questions.

What is the project?

Why should people care?

What do you want people to do once they know about it? And what do you want them to do once they experience it?

For example, take a movie.

What about the movie makes it stand out in all the noise?

Why should people care about movie? What about it should cause people to choose your movie, two hours of time, spend money, etc over the many other options?

And once someone has watched the movie, what do you want them to do next? Tell others? Go to the Spotify playlist? Read the book? Organize a screening?

Those three questions need to be top-of-mind with everyone you meet, every piece of marketing collateral you make, every message you craft.

What?

So What?

Now What?

If you do that, the audiences and buyers will be asking you:

What else?

As in, what else do you have coming that we can get behind?
